Mom, Dad are we there yet? I wanna ride the doll ride mommy, you know the one at the Pepsi Building. NO DAD we rode that last time cause sis wanted to. I wanna see the Dinosaurs and ride in the Mustang. All right children, quiet down now We’ll be there anytime now and your father will decide what we do first… How many times was this scenario played out in 1964 through 1965 if you happened to be in New York?

On this episode of Echoes of Laughter both T. Mic and Bill Cotter will revisit the 1964 New York World’s Fair which was held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in the borough of Queens. They will discuss Bill’s personal experience of attending the fair as well as what was good and bad about how the fair came about, how it was operated, what made it a unique World’s Fair, it’s financial problems and what remains of the site today.

The site had also hosted the1939/1940 New York World’s Fair. It ran during April 22 through October 18, 1964 and April 21 through October 17, 1965. The admission price for adults (13 and older) was $2.00 in 1964 but $2.50 in 1965, and $1.00 for children (2–12) both years. The theme of the fair was "Peace Through Understanding," and was dedicated to "Man's Achievement on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe". The fair exhibits were unquestionably dominated by American Industry and third world countries that normally would not have a chance to participate in a World’s Fair. The reason for this was that the fair was unsanctioned by the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) due to a variety of reasons including the fact that it was to be run for two 6 month seasons (The BIE only authorizes 1 – six month run). The fair site encompassed 1 square mile and was one of the largest fair sites ever hosted in the United States. Most of the corporate exhibits were geared towards space age technology. The theme was present in the architecture of many of the pavilions, such as the leaning wall of the GM pavilion, the IBM “Egg”, The Westinghouse and Ford Buildings were also futuristic in design.

Though the fair was plagued with financial woe’s it still is remembered fondly by most of the public that attended it. In the variety of foods (such as the famous Bel-Gem Waffles), the wonder of people first seeing tomorrows technology in action and the hope of a utopian future as it was presented in abundance. Ah, the dreams of the past.

And then there was the Disney influence… Walt Disney saw the fair as a great opportunity for his own company’s growth. Some of America’s top corporations benefited from Disney’s imagination and ingenuity in presenting their products to the public and Disney benefited in return by being able to use the financial backing from those very corporations to fund research and design for technologically advanced ride systems, shows, and (of course) Audio Animatronics… The rest shall we say is history.

The 1964 New York World’s Fair significance is still very present some 48 years later and though there are very few physical landmarks that still survive on the site in Flushing Meadows Corona Park the gleaming stainless steel Unisphere still shines as brightly today for those who see it today as it does in the memories of those who still hold the experience of attending the fair in their mind and in their hearts from so many years ago…

On this episode of The Tour Bus Music Show T. Mic speaks with one of rock’s legendary bassists, Rudy Sarzo (www.rudysarzo.com) before their show at Baton Rouge’s Varsity Theatre briefly about his career, his current involvement Dio Disciples and his long association and friendship with Ronnie James Dio (www.ronniejamesdio.com). Dio Disciples is the band of the late Ronnie James Dio. They have been touring the world in celebration of the life of Ronnie and to raise awareness of cancer, the early detection and treatment for the disease. Ronnie passed away at 7:45 am (CDT) on May 16, 2010, of metastasized stomach cancer.

We also speak about the current tour, what’s in the future for the band and the non-profit fund started by Ronnie and his wife Wendy Dio. The Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable fund dedicated to support cancer prevention research, raise awareness and educate the public with the focus that early detection and prevention is of vital importance when dealing with this deadly disease that robs families of it's loved ones.

We at the Audios Maximus Media Network and The Tour Bus Music Show encourage our listeners to contribute towards this cause and helping to put an end to this terrible disease that has claimed the life of Ronnie as well as so many other wonderful people in this world before their time. On a personal note T. Mic and Ana of Audios Maximus has lost grandparents as well as other close family members and friends to cancer. This is one cause that we all can get behind. Welcome to Episode# 21 of the Tour Bus Music Show. On this episode we will be featuring an interview with Geoff Tate (www.geofftate.com) of the legendary rock band Queensrÿche (www.queensryche.com). Back on our December episode (episode# 9) of the Tour Bus music show, Geoff alluded to the fact that the band was working on music for what was to be an experimental new album. We now know that the album that he was speaking about is “Dedicated To Chaos”. The album is a definite evolution of the bands’ sound and writing style. After listening to the album several times both with headphones and out loud (anybody that has listened to Queensrÿche extensively knows about their elaborate production techniques, which makes listening through headphones an equally elaborate experience). Speaking as a longtime Queensrÿche fan I can speak to the fact the new album is very different than any other album from the group. That being said, I think that the album has a fresh new sound, content that is relevant to the time we live in and is as good,  if not better than any album in the Queensrÿche catalog.

Now on to the conversation that Geoff and T. Mic had. We discussed not only the album but the tour that the band has been currently engaged in. The tour celebrates Queensrÿche’s 30th anniversary and the band will be performing music not only from the new album but across their career. According to Geoff, fans can also expect the exceptional stage show that the band is well known for.  Geoff and T. Mic also discuss a variety of other topics regarding the band, their history, and some of what is to come with Queensryche. We also preview four tracks off of “Dedicated to Chaos” on the show and find out the inspiration behind some of the music on the album.

We hope you enjoy this episode and encourage you to subscribe to The Tour Bus Music Show. You can find out more information on Queensrÿche, their new album “Dedicated To Chaos” and their 30th anniversary tour at www.queensryche.com  Please come back for our next episode.

Welcome to our first episode of Personalities. This show will feature real people telling their real stories. Their highs and lows, triumphs and failures and what has brought them to where they are in life today. You will hear their insights on the struggles they have faced and the drive and passion that have carried them through to the success and happiness they enjoy today.

On this episode we feature our inaugural guest, Daniel J. Lewis of the Noodle.MX podcast network. Daniel has been a podcaster since 2007 and is the producer and host of the clean comedy podcast "The Ramen Noodle" and the popular how-to-podcast show "The Audacity To Podcast". Daniel is a full time podcaster, web and graphic designer and he talks with us in this episode about what led him to begin podcasting, as well as valuable insights on how to build a successful podcast, website and what it takes to last over the long term and to not pod-fade after a few episodes. He’ll share the story of his life over the past several years of turning his passion and hobby into his livelihood all while obtaining balance between the effort and time it takes building a successful business, enjoying his personal life and sharing with his wife in a rewarding and loving marriage

The life of a podcaster is a busy one and without proper planning, knowledge, and self-motivation most simply disappear after a few episodes. Daniel discusses with us why someone must have a passion for pursuing podcasting. As he says frequently on his podcast, The Audacity To Podcast, you must have POD to podcast (Passion, Organization and Dialogue).

So join us now as we share in the story of a man as he pursues his dreams on the road to success and more importantly, happiness.

Thank for joining us on Episode# 19 of The Tour Bus Music Show. Rocking the world from Southern Louisiana. On this episode we’ll talk with Jeremy Edge, the lead guitarist, of Williamsport, PA’s Candlelight Red. This band has been hitting the radio airwaves and the internet music scene with the impact of a Juggernaut. Having hit the ground running Candlelight Red beat out over 10,000 bands to win Guitar Centers On-Stage Competition. In which they won a $10,000 shopping spree and Guitar Center along with being hand picked by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons to win the coveted spot of opening for one of the ultimate rock legends, KISS in 2010. Since then their momentum has only increased with them continuing to share the stage with some of today’s best rock groups such as Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Staind, Lacuna Coil and Three Days Grace. The bands’ lead axe slinger Jeremy Edge takes a few minutes out of their busy touring schedule with Saving Abel to talk with T. Mic about the history of the group as well as what is currently going on now and the near future for the band.

CANDLELIGHT RED IS:

RYAN HOKE - LEAD VOCALS

JEREMY EDGE - GUITAR/BACKING VOCALS

JAMIE MORRAL - BASS GUITAR/BACKING VOCALS

JOSH HETRICK - DRUMS

With the group’s permission we’ll also feature four songs from their soon to be released album, The Wreckage on Imagen Records and talk about the story behind several of the songs off of the album. Produced by David Ivory, The Wreckage stands as a testament to hard work and talented musicianship. The whole album has a great sound and in T. Mic’s opinion there is not a track on the album that doesn’t ROCK! We’ll be featuring their hot single “Closer” as well as the groovin’ rocker “In Your Hands”. The guys also cover a cool version of Roxette’s “She’s Got the Look” and we wrap up the show with the driving song Gone Forever.

Jeremy also discusses his past and what led him to a career in music and a life of the road. As a matter of fact that is exactly where he called in from as he was in transit during the course of our interview. Candlelight Red’s new album will be released at the end of September 2011.  Information on the band, their tour dates and current news can be found at www.myspace.com/candlelightred and www.reverbnation.com/candlelightred
