On this episode of The Tour Bus Music Show T. Mic speaks with one of rock’s legendary bassists, Rudy Sarzo (www.rudysarzo.com) before their show at Baton Rouge’s Varsity Theatre briefly about his career, his current involvement Dio Disciples and his long association and friendship with Ronnie James Dio (www.ronniejamesdio.com). Dio Disciples is the band of the late Ronnie James Dio. They have been touring the world in celebration of the life of Ronnie and to raise awareness of cancer, the early detection and treatment for the disease. Ronnie passed away at 7:45 am (CDT) on May 16, 2010, of metastasized stomach cancer.

We also speak about the current tour, what’s in the future for the band and the non-profit fund started by Ronnie and his wife Wendy Dio. The Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable fund dedicated to support cancer prevention research, raise awareness and educate the public with the focus that early detection and prevention is of vital importance when dealing with this deadly disease that robs families of it's loved ones.

We at the Audios Maximus Media Network and The Tour Bus Music Show encourage our listeners to contribute towards this cause and helping to put an end to this terrible disease that has claimed the life of Ronnie as well as so many other wonderful people in this world before their time. On a personal note T. Mic and Ana of Audios Maximus has lost grandparents as well as other close family members and friends to cancer. This is one cause that we all can get behind. To find out how to contribute to this worthy cause, here is the web address: http://diocancerfund.org/

Mom, Dad are we there yet? I wanna ride the doll ride mommy, you know the one at the Pepsi Building. NO DAD we rode that last time cause sis wanted to. I wanna see the Dinosaurs and ride in the Mustang. All right children, quiet down now We’ll be there anytime now and your father will decide what we do first… How many times was this scenario played out in 1964 through 1965 if you happened to be in New York?

On this episode of Echoes of Laughter both T. Mic and Bill Cotter will revisit the 1964 New York World’s Fair which was held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in the borough of Queens. They will discuss Bill’s personal experience of attending the fair as well as what was good and bad about how the fair came about, how it was operated, what made it a unique World’s Fair, it’s financial problems and what remains of the site today.

The site had also hosted the1939/1940 New York World’s Fair. It ran during April 22 through October 18, 1964 and April 21 through October 17, 1965. The admission price for adults (13 and older) was $2.00 in 1964 but $2.50 in 1965, and $1.00 for children (2–12) both years. The theme of the fair was "Peace Through Understanding," and was dedicated to "Man's Achievement on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe". The fair exhibits were unquestionably dominated by American Industry and third world countries that normally would not have a chance to participate in a World’s Fair. The reason for this was that the fair was unsanctioned by the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) due to a variety of reasons including the fact that it was to be run for two 6 month seasons (The BIE only authorizes 1 – six month run). The fair site encompassed 1 square mile and was one of the largest fair sites ever hosted in the United States. Most of the corporate exhibits were geared towards space age technology. The theme was present in the architecture of many of the pavilions, such as the leaning wall of the GM pavilion, the IBM “Egg”, The Westinghouse and Ford Buildings were also futuristic in design.

Though the fair was plagued with financial woe’s it still is remembered fondly by most of the public that attended it. In the variety of foods (such as the famous Bel-Gem Waffles), the wonder of people first seeing tomorrows technology in action and the hope of a utopian future as it was presented in abundance. Ah, the dreams of the past.

And then there was the Disney influence… Walt Disney saw the fair as a great opportunity for his own company’s growth. Some of America’s top corporations benefited from Disney’s imagination and ingenuity in presenting their products to the public and Disney benefited in return by being able to use the financial backing from those very corporations to fund research and design for technologically advanced ride systems, shows, and (of course) Audio Animatronics… The rest shall we say is history.

The 1964 New York World’s Fair significance is still very present some 48 years later and though there are very few physical landmarks that still survive on the site in Flushing Meadows Corona Park the gleaming stainless steel Unisphere still shines as brightly today for those who see it today as it does in the memories of those who still hold the experience of attending the fair in their mind and in their hearts from so many years ago…

Welcome to Episode# 21 of the Tour Bus Music Show. On this episode we will be featuring an interview with Geoff Tate (www.geofftate.com) of the legendary rock band Queensrÿche (www.queensryche.com). Back on our December episode (episode# 9) of the Tour Bus music show, Geoff alluded to the fact that the band was working on music for what was to be an experimental new album. We now know that the album that he was speaking about is “Dedicated To Chaos”. The album is a definite evolution of the bands’ sound and writing style. After listening to the album several times both with headphones and out loud (anybody that has listened to Queensrÿche extensively knows about their elaborate production techniques, which makes listening through headphones an equally elaborate experience). Speaking as a longtime Queensrÿche fan I can speak to the fact the new album is very different than any other album from the group. That being said, I think that the album has a fresh new sound, content that is relevant to the time we live in and is as good,  if not better than any album in the Queensrÿche catalog.

Now on to the conversation that Geoff and T. Mic had. We discussed not only the album but the tour that the band has been currently engaged in. The tour celebrates Queensrÿche’s 30th anniversary and the band will be performing music not only from the new album but across their career. According to Geoff, fans can also expect the exceptional stage show that the band is well known for.  Geoff and T. Mic also discuss a variety of other topics regarding the band, their history, and some of what is to come with Queensryche. We also preview four tracks off of “Dedicated to Chaos” on the show and find out the inspiration behind some of the music on the album.

We hope you enjoy this episode and encourage you to subscribe to The Tour Bus Music Show. You can find out more information on Queensrÿche, their new album “Dedicated To Chaos” and their 30th anniversary tour at www.queensryche.com  Please come back for our next episode.

Welcome everyone to episide 11 of My Symphony Of Life! On this episode our featured guest is the author of This Means War. She’s an author of 14 young adults’ books. Here at My Symphony Of Life we enjoy reading all types of books and different genre’s.  We are defiantly a book worm family! If you have kids who in grades 5-8 they’ll enjoy this book. I had the pleasure to read This Means War. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I found myself reminiscing through my childhood. How many time’s when you were younger you’d state THIS MEANS WAR! Options: rock, paper, scissors, not it, let’s race. In this situation as the characters in this book went through girls are just as good as boys…even better and stronger! The challenge begins. Ellen take’s us through the battle of the sexes! Everyone stands behind the challenge and they find out it’s worth fighting for. It’s a wonderful book about growing up, finding out who they are, individually and working together in this challenge girls vs. boys…This means war! I found this book a great history tool as well as it takes you back to the year 1962 and this is set in the midst of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It’s a historical lesson during the period and its keeps kids wanting to learn more without bombarding them with dry historical facts. This is a must read book! This reaches students in which they can relate to on certain level. I encourage you to get this book and check out Ellen’s website at www.ellenwittlinger.com.  If you’re looking for a speaker for conferences, school visits or library engagements please contact Ellen Wittlinger. Thank for joining us on Episode# 19 of The Tour Bus Music Show. Rocking the world from Southern Louisiana. On this episode we’ll talk with Jeremy Edge, the lead guitarist, of Williamsport, PA’s Candlelight Red. This band has been hitting the radio airwaves and the internet music scene with the impact of a Juggernaut. Having hit the ground running Candlelight Red beat out over 10,000 bands to win Guitar Centers On-Stage Competition. In which they won a $10,000 shopping spree and Guitar Center along with being hand picked by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons to win the coveted spot of opening for one of the ultimate rock legends, KISS in 2010. Since then their momentum has only increased with them continuing to share the stage with some of today’s best rock groups such as Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Staind, Lacuna Coil and Three Days Grace. The bands’ lead axe slinger Jeremy Edge takes a few minutes out of their busy touring schedule with Saving Abel to talk with T. Mic about the history of the group as well as what is currently going on now and the near future for the band.

CANDLELIGHT RED IS:

RYAN HOKE - LEAD VOCALS

JEREMY EDGE - GUITAR/BACKING VOCALS

JAMIE MORRAL - BASS GUITAR/BACKING VOCALS

JOSH HETRICK - DRUMS

With the group’s permission we’ll also feature four songs from their soon to be released album, The Wreckage on Imagen Records and talk about the story behind several of the songs off of the album. Produced by David Ivory, The Wreckage stands as a testament to hard work and talented musicianship. The whole album has a great sound and in T. Mic’s opinion there is not a track on the album that doesn’t ROCK! We’ll be featuring their hot single “Closer” as well as the groovin’ rocker “In Your Hands”. The guys also cover a cool version of Roxette’s “She’s Got the Look” and we wrap up the show with the driving song Gone Forever.

Jeremy also discusses his past and what led him to a career in music and a life of the road. As a matter of fact that is exactly where he called in from as he was in transit during the course of our interview. Candlelight Red’s new album will be released at the end of September 2011.  Information on the band, their tour dates and current news can be found at www.myspace.com/candlelightred and www.reverbnation.com/candlelightred

Welcome to our first episode of Personalities. This show will feature real people telling their real stories. Their highs and lows, triumphs and failures and what has brought them to where they are in life today. You will hear their insights on the struggles they have faced and the drive and passion that have carried them through to the success and happiness they enjoy today.

On this episode we feature our inaugural guest, Daniel J. Lewis of the Noodle.MX podcast network. Daniel has been a podcaster since 2007 and is the producer and host of the clean comedy podcast "The Ramen Noodle" and the popular how-to-podcast show "The Audacity To Podcast". Daniel is a full time podcaster, web and graphic designer and he talks with us in this episode about what led him to begin podcasting, as well as valuable insights on how to build a successful podcast, website and what it takes to last over the long term and to not pod-fade after a few episodes. He’ll share the story of his life over the past several years of turning his passion and hobby into his livelihood all while obtaining balance between the effort and time it takes building a successful business, enjoying his personal life and sharing with his wife in a rewarding and loving marriage

The life of a podcaster is a busy one and without proper planning, knowledge, and self-motivation most simply disappear after a few episodes. Daniel discusses with us why someone must have a passion for pursuing podcasting. As he says frequently on his podcast, The Audacity To Podcast, you must have POD to podcast (Passion, Organization and Dialogue).

So join us now as we share in the story of a man as he pursues his dreams on the road to success and more importantly, happiness.

Here’s a story for you. It is of a young boy’s trip to Florida in 1979. The first real vacation his family ever took and was it one to remember and I’d like to share some of our story as well as the stories of three of the attractions that we visited that year that are no longer there to be enjoyed. Hi! This is T. Mic and this Echoes of Laughter will be a little different. It is a trip down memory lane and not just any trip but my own.

To the 11 year old boy that I was in 1979, these places were wonders to me and my siblings at the time and they still hold a special place in my memory some 32 years later. My parents had taken our family to Florida that year on vacation. As a matter of fact, my family was a modest middle class family in the seventies and we had never really gone anywhere on a real vacation before except for a few overnight trips around our home state of Louisiana and a trip or two into Mississippi. This was our first real week long vacation and we were going to the Sunshine State for the first time!

In this episode we’ll explore the Stars Hall Of Fame and The Mystery Funhouse. Both were once located in Orlando Florida. One we visited on our trip, the other we did not, but oh how I wish we had. We’ll talk about both attractions that succumbed to a ever more competitive tourist market and what these wonderful smaller attractions once encompassed.  Put on your old bell bottom jeans, comb that mustache, and sport that dusty old silk shirt in the back of your closet…Were going back to 1979 and talking about more wax than you can shake a match at!

Long before Eago hassled the birds, Jack Sparrow and Barbarosa pillaged the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and you could find wild animals on Discovery Island instead of in a Kingdom. We made our first trip to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. In this episode Kenny and I (T. Mic) share the humorous and interesting story of our first trip to the house of the mouse. We’ll take you on a virtual walk around the Magic Kingdom at the time and discuss rides and attractions that are no longer there to be enjoyed as well as the ones that are. We will discuss the differences in the park as we travel between the past and present and our perspectives on experiencing the park through the eyes of the children we were then and those treasured memories that last to this very day.

Long gone rides and attractions such as the Penny Arcade, the Mike Fink Keelboats & Canoes, the Magic Skyway, Mr. Toads Wild Ride and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea are just a few of the attractions and rides we’ll discuss. So slap on those groovy bell bottom jeans and your best silk shirt (don’t forget that flashy neck chain) and hop in the Hornet with us as our family drives from south Louisiana to Florida to experience Walt Disney World for the first time. It’s time to Disco down to Disney…

My Symphony Of Life - Episode# 009 7/17/2011 - Interview With Claudette Chenevert The Step Mom Coach, Local Calendars and Chef Sarah

Here at My Symphony Of Life we have added Stepn2mom. The Tour Bus Music Show - Episode# 18 6/26/2011 - Interview And Music With World Renowned Bassist Michael Manring

In every generation, there is one…or maybe two bassist that changes the rules and for that matter the whole concept of what can be done on and with a bass guitar. The late great Jaco Pastorius was one of the masters of bass guitar that expanded the world of bass guitar with his astounding ability and talent. However, it was his student that took the bass to new heights and along with Joe Zon designed one of the finest and most unique bass instruments on the planet…The Zon Hyperbass, Michaels’ signature instrument. With it he continues to stretch the very boundaries of the bassists’ realm.

Michael has had and continues to have an outstanding career having performed and collaborated with the very finest musicians in the world. He has performed every type of music from New Age to Rock and Jazz to Fusion. His solo work has been some of the most innovative music ever composed for bass guitar including a work entitled “ My Three Moons” off his album “Thonk” where he simultaneously plays three basses at once with remarkable prowess. We have included a link to the video of him performing this feat on our web site at www.audiosmaximus.com.

In this episode of the this episode of  The Tour Bus Music Show we sit down with Michael for an in depth interview where we discuss his career and experiences such as his friendship and collaboration the late acoustic guitar master and performer Michael Hedges. We’ll also get inside his head where he shares with us his unique perspective on the bass guitar, life in general and what helped contribute to making him the remarkable bassist he is today.

In a personal note, I am a bassist myself (T. Mic), Michael Manring has been one of my personal favorite bassists for many years and has had a profound influence on my own playing style. It was a privilege and honor to conduct this interview and I wish to extend my personal thanks to Michael Manring for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk with me for this interview.

You can find out more information on Michael Manring and current dates for his concerts and clinics on at www.manthing.com.

The Tour Bus Music Show – Episode 17 Friday June 12, 2011 – Interview and Music with George Porter, Jr.

In this episode of The Tour Bus Music Show on the Tales From The Back Of The Bus we are going to get funky in an interview with New Orleans/Gonzales, LA based bassist extraordinaire ,George Porter, Jr. (www.georgeporterjr.com) (www.funkymeters.com), To say that we’re going to get funky in retrospect is not quite correct because it is hard to pigeon-hole a man of Mr. Porter, Jr.’s  talent into just one genre of music.

He has, in fact, not only is he a founding member of The world famous “Original” Meter’s but played just about every type of music there is on the side of some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as having as exception solo career as a vocalist, guitarist, and bassist in his own right. To say he is still in demand is to put it mildly. At 63 years young, George’s schedule performing with his four, mind you that’s four, primary bands, his “Solo” shows and all of the gigs he still performs with various other bands and artists would leave a younger bassist with his head spinning. He has recorded on to many albums to count with other great artists.

Busy? Yes – In Demand? Yes – Exceptionally Talented? A Resounding Yes – Someone You Need To See and Hear? Without A Doubt – On The Tour Bus? He is In The House!. Join us in a rare candid interview with George Porter, Jr. as we sit in the comfort of one of his beautiful home near the historic Houmas House Plantation and discuss his experiences of a lifetime playing all over the world as well as his beloved New Orleans with artists and bands such as The Meters, The Funky Meters, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Professor Longhair, Robert Palmer, Patti LaBelle, Earl King, etc.

We’ll also play several songs of his during the course of the show. This will also be the first in our series of “The Bottom Line” shows where we will be featuring some of the finest bassist in the music industry and the world for that matter. You can look for upcoming shows that will be featuring Michael Manring, Tony Franklin, and many more outstanding bass players.

In this episode of The Tour Bus Music Show on the Tales From The Back Of The Bus Interview Segment we will be featuring Cardinal Collide, a 4 piece progressive rock band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana (http://www.reverbnation.com/cardinalcollide). We had the chance to catch up with the guys; James, Derek, David & Tweezy a few weeks ago in the midst of finishing up their new album, Ghosts Outside Your Window, and talked with them on a variety of topics.

It was a great interview that lasted over an hour and a half long. We went in-depth with the band into their songwriting process, personal experiences, the challenges and the triumphs they have faced in their time together.

Their music is inspiring and touching as the explore the human condition through their music and lyrics. In their live shows they come across powerfully and clearly and a performance that is just as enjoyable visually as it is audibly. Join us in hearing about this great band by listening to the podcast in it’s entirety as we explore the music, the people and the experience that is uniquely Cardinal Collide.

In this episode The Tour Music Music Show is transported oversea's for an interview in the outback with hard rock powerhouse group, Strange Karma. Paul Strange (Lead Guitar & Vocals) and Martin Strange (Lead Vocalist) chat with T. Mic on the history of the group through it's initial tours through Europe and their recent tour of the midwest and west coast of the United States.

Their most recent release Volume 1 showcases the group as a hard rocking, tight sounding group with a hint of the classic hard rock sound that makes them fairly unique in this day and age. That's not to say that the group isn't serious competition for any modern rock group. With the drive of a tank this band has faced and conquered challenges that would have left lesser bands running for the hills.

The experience, hard rockin' style, and great live performances of this group recently in the States has left major venues and talent reps. clamouring for more. Just how soon can we expect them back in the United States on tour is a matter currently being planned by the band and their management. Until then we can only check out their album, Volume 1, from which we feature four songs this episode: America, Down and Out, Fame and Mind Games and hope they'll be back stateside, rockin' soon.

You can check out their news, tour dates, and other information on the band at:http://www.strangekarma.net/ and www.myspace.com/strangekarma.

The Tour Bus Music Show - 011 3/30/2011 - Tales From The Back Of the Bus (Alternative Music) - Interview And Music With Winbourne From Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Welcome to our interview segment of The Tour Bus Music Show. On this episode we will feature Winbourne from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We caught up with the band short after they returned from their performance at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Winbourne was kind enough to take some time away from their rehearsals at the Healing Place Dream Center in Baton Rouge and let us in on what has been going on with the group, their collective history, information on their current EP and the upcoming release later this year of their full length LP.

Our interview is about 1 ½ hours in length including music and was interesting, entertaining, and informative. Over the course of the interview we feature four songs off of their 2010 EP entitled “As We Are”. The songs we feature are (In order): “Let Me Love You, Street Signs, Easy and What Were You Thinking”. The background music in the beginning of the interview is an instrumental version of “Retrospect”

We were not only impressed with their music, but with each of them. Their personalities, charm, and genuineness as individuals made the interview a pleasure in itself. We at Audios Maximus Media Network recommend that you make the opportunity to see them live as well as purchasing and adding their music to your collection. They are defiantly worth hearing time and again.

Links to their sites online are:

www.myspace.com/winbournemusic

Their EP is available at many music retailers online including Amazon and iTunes.

***Winbourne was founded in 2008 and has been setting their audiences on fire with their energy, talent, and passion for what they do. Music…and they do it well. Jordan, Chris (Doogie), Matt, Torrance and Terry are committed to their craft and it shows in everything they do. In our research on local music acts the first thing that drew us to the group was their music. It was positive, well written, masterfully arranged & produced.

Winbourne has been featured in The City Social, Tiger Weekly, The LSU Daily Reveille, 225 Magazine, and The Advocate. The band’s sound can be described as as alternative rock. Winbourne entered the Baton Rouge music scene by storm playing at every popular local venue including Chelsea’s, The Varsity and college gigs not to mention they have joined forces with other popular local bands such as Jake Smith.

With a rapidly growing fan base flocking to its Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook web pages, Winbourne has received avid local support of their originals. Fans’ favorites include “Easy,” “Let Me Love You,” and “Street Signs”. Fresh out of the studio the band’s focus is spreading their music to the world on their new pilot EP album “As We Are”. The six track record is now available on iTunes and at live shows.

Their loyal south Louisiana fan base now spreads outwards in hot response to their EP and enthralling live performance. Winbourne is preparing to get back in the studio to release a full length LP in the spring of 2011. In the mean time they continue to play locally and regionally as well as prepare for stage time in a slew of music festivals within the southeastern U.S. Whether blasting their live performances from the stage or rocking their “As We Are” EP through your own speakers, Winbourne will inspire you to Live Loud.

"Tales From The Back Of the Bus" (our interview segments) will be released separately from the main show but will be released under the same RSS feed so that you will continue to get automatic downloads of the interviews along with the main show so you won't miss a thing.

We will be going back to the inception of the show to bring back a third part of the show that will be the concert calendar for the US gulf south area. This portion will be released weekly and will feature both local and national dates.

Bands that wish their dates to be included in the concert calendar should send their dates on a monthly basis (or more often) to us at: bands@thetourbusmusicshow.com. Submissions must be received by Monday of the week they wish to be listed by 5:00PM CST. The concert calendar will be posted online on the following Thursday by 10:00PM CST. To ensure that bands are listed, a submission of your band’s monthly calendar is recommended.

In local music news, spring is in the air, flowers are in bloom, and local bands are kicking out great new music faster than rabbits on viagra. Big Frank has released their long-waited new album entitled Franco Grande. We had the chance to catch their show a couple of weeks ago and they were in usual bone-crushing form headlining a local club, Xtreme’s Sports Bar & Grill in Gonzales, LA. Ben, P. Fridge, Matt & Klipstein were taking no prisoners and rocking a packed house. Check them out at reverbnation.com/bigfrank and support them by getting their CD. Other bands releasing new albums this spring include upcoming guest’s on the Tour Bus Music Show such as Cardinal Collide, as well as Black Market Halos, Poltern Kinder with their new album, Feral (available at iTunes). Lillian Axe has welcomed their new vocalist Brian Jones to the ranks and have dived right in to recording their new album tentatively scheduled for late summer/early fall release. Both me and Ana were treated to a preview of one of the tracks for the new album while visiting with Steve and his wife recently entitled “Take The Bullet”. The band has now placed the song as a sample track on their website at LillianAxe.com and is now available to listen to. Lillian Axe will be debuting Brian at 2 shows on April 8, 2011 at The Howling Wolf in New Orleans, Louisiana and on April 9, 2011 at FIRE in Jackson, Mississippi. Check their website or our concert calendar for details. Speaking of Lillian Axe, for those of us who grew up around Louisiana in the 80’s and got to the see the original line-up of Lillian Axe prior to them being signed to MCA records, we have good news! The Original line up of the Axe is back together under the name Circle Of Light. That’s right, Steve Blaze, Johnny Vines, Mike Maxx, and Danny King will soon be rocking some of their original songs as well as new ones starting around this may. They are also in production of an album themselves. Details will be announced in the near future. Again keep an eye and ear for that matter on our concert calendar that can be found at www.audiosmaximus.com in both blog and audio versions.

It will be a good summer concert season if you are into classic rock, I’m not saying that there will not be a lot of great many modern acts out there this summer, but there are several notable classic acts coming to the southern United States area on tour this summer. Just giving you a heads up for Southern Louisiana and South Mississippi Area (and by the way) check out The Tour Bus Concert Calendar this coming week for more dates and details. Chicago will be performing at Beau Rivage Theatre in Biloxi, MS on Friday April 15 and At Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, LA on Saturday April 16, 2011, Whitesnake will be performing at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, MS on Friday May 20, 2011, Saturday May 21, 2011 at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, LA and at Snowden Grove Amphitheatre in Southhaven, MS on Tuesday May 24, 2011, Also coming in May is Rocklahoma running from Friday May 27 through Sunday May 29, 2011. Although it will be a little drive for some it will be well worth the trip with bands such as Motley Crue, Poison, Staind, Whitesnake, Papa Roach, Seether, Hinder, Skillet, Saving Abel, Sick Puppies, Sebastian Bach, Black Label Society, Drowning Pool and Many, Many Others, Speaking of Motley Crue and Poison they will also be performing with special guests New York Dolls at the Mississippi Coast Colliseum in Biloxi, MS on Friday July 8, 2011, Def Leppard with Special Guest Heart will be at the New Orleans Arena Saturday July 23, 2011,  Journey, Foreigner, and Night Ranger will be live in concert at Aaron’s Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA on Friday September 16, 2011  and Queensryche will be coming to Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, MS on Friday September 23, 2011

As we said earlier, we have been checking out and listening to a number of bands during our hiatus and we wanted to pass on some great bands and music that we have found. While they are not a new band, this weeks pick is  “In This Moment” from Hollywood, California. This band has been around for several years and released their newest album, “A Star-Crossed Wasteland” in mid 2010. For those of you who have not heard of or checked out this band, if you like hard rock, they are a “must-listen-to-band”. The band of extremely proficient and talented musicians: Chris Howorth on Lead Guitar, Blake Bunzel on Rhythm Guitar, Jeff Fabb on Drums and Travis Johnson on bass, with their alluring and powerful vocalist Maria Brink area a force of nature when they come together to make music. From haunting melodies to a vicious, shredding musical assault on their, let’s say…more energetic songs, this band’s music is addicting as we found ourselves wanting to listen to them everyday. On the first track of “A Star Crossed Wasteland” you press play on pur CD or MP3 player and you are yanked forcefully into the middle of a Category 5 grade mosh pit and are left to wonder how this proverbial wall of sound came crashing down on your head. While the mood and sounds change throughout the album, the entire album is full of great tracks, especially the more commercial sounding (if they can actually sound commercial) “The Promise”  which features a duet with Maria and Otherwise’s Adrian Patrick. We encourage you to checkout their website, their videos on YouTube and on tour. Their current releases to date are: Beautiful Tragedy (2007), The Dream (2008) and of course A Star Crossed Wasteland (2010).

Wow, what a whirlwind it has been these past several months. Lots of changes, late nights, crazy schedules… life has felt like a revolving door and at times not know if we were coming or going. To say the least it has been a challenge at times to balance our work schedules at our main jobs, family, pets, and turning what started as a hobby podcasting into a full blown production company. There have been times along the way when balance in life has seemed like a distant dream but all in all it has worked out. Don’t get me wrong, we are not complaining, as a matter of fact the sharing of our passion for podcasting about the topics that we do has been a vast reward in of itself. We love connecting with not only the people and now friends that we work with and interview, but also connecting with our community of listeners and friends across the internet and world for that matter. Not much inspires us more than to wake up in the morning and looking forward into the coming day knowing that we’ll have a chance to interact with so many people that we did not know the day before and the chance to learn from their perspective on life as we interact. Overall, the journey has required a lot of dedication and energy, but it has been a blast and we are looking forward to many, many more years doing what we love to do!

Along with the other changes we have had a few personnel changes. Scott “Bozo” Hood has decided to take some time for more pressing matters in his life and has, at least for the time, stepped down from his duties at Audios Maximus and we wish him nothing but continued success and prosperity no matter where life takes him. However, we have been joined by none other than my brother, Kenny to help keep us on track and to help take Global Stage Media and Audios Maximus Media Network to the next level. Kenny brings with him an extensive amount of talent, drive, and personality to the network. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from SoutheasternLouisianaUniversity and he will be a very valued Partner/Owner in our network and production company.

Along with our change from a hobby to an actual functioning company we have also had to perform our due diligence and legalize our company. As we take these next steps we have registered with the IRS, filed our LLC, working to get our business license, trade marking, and registering to pay sales taxes as necessary on sales of future digital products. Yes, formally going into business can be challenging but exhilarating experience. But worth every minute of it.

Now that we are back we have got some great groups coming up in the next few months. Nonpoint will be joining us in May. We will also have several other great bands joining us over the course of the spring & summer such as Southern Whiskey Rebellion, Cardinal Collide, Winbourne as well as major acts. Once Again keep an eye on our blog and listen to The Tour Bus Music Show for details. As far as our production schedule, it’s full throttle and we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Along with other changes our community can expect some changes to our websites look and feel over the next couple of months as we prepare to add many more interactive features to engage you, our listeners with and to improve the overall efficiency and control of it’s features and add our new community forum & discussion board. We welcome your comments and encourage you to e-mail us at feedback@audiosmaximus.com or call us on our listener feedback line at (206) 338-1478 to tell us your ideas on what we can add or change to make your experience better on our site. We want to hear from you!

We hope you enjoyed this episode of The Tour Bus Music Show. Again, keep an eye on our upcoming concert calendar, which again will be released both on our blog and on this same podcast feed on the opposite weekends from this show. Also keep an ear our for our interview segments, Tales From the Back Of the Bus, which will be released on this same RSS feed as well. Of course all of the Tour Bus Music Show segments can always be found on our website at www.audiosmaximus.com, on iTunes, Zune, and Blackberry podcasts and on many other podcast directories online.

Echoes Of Laughter - 003 2/27/2011 - 1984 Louisiana World's Exposition, New Orleans, Louisiana and an interview with Bill Cotter

This episode features an interview with Bill Cotter, published author of several books on World Fairs, Disney Television, and co-author on several other books. T. Mic (show host) & Bill discuss the 1984 Louisiana World’s Exposition at length. They will take you on an audio journey through the fair, area by area, they will discuss some of the individual attractions as well a the pavilions that were located in the 84 acre site on the Mississippi Riverfront in New Orleans Louisiana. They also discuss the origins of the fair, its challenges, highlights, and where you can still experience a few of the original attractions from the fair that are still in operation today. The will also discuss a little on some attractions that were planned for the fair but never came to be. The 1984 Louisiana World is probably one of the least documented World’s Fairs online yet most people that experienced the fair still retain fond memories of it some 26+ years later.
